Orange is the new Black

As we all know, Orange, and it’s various forms, is a hot colour for Spring and Summer. It always seems to make an appearance for this time of the year, but this year it’s brighter and sexier than before. It really is a great colour as it flatters all skintones and an orange lippie can do wonders for taking away the focus from tired-looking eyes. But it can be difficult to know how to wear it and what shades to wear to best suit you. Orange can be worn on the eyes, cheeks and lips, so you can just chose one area to concentrate on or totally go for it by using it on all three! Here is a breakdown of what suits the four main skin tones;

FAIR SKIN

Fair

Fair Skin

Fair skin can often looked washed out, so you’re best off choosing oranges that have a more pinky/coral colour to them as this will add warmth and brightness. This will also make the skin instantly pop.

The warm undertones in your skin work with pastels and will make your complexion look more even glowing.

Cheeks – Shu Uemura Bouncy Blusher in Orange Quartz

OLIVE SKIN

Olive Skin

Yellowy undertones really work with a serious punch of bright neon orange, or any colour neon for that matter. Although, with lip products, avoid them if you’re worried about your teeth (they can make stained teeth appear more yellow).

Best Products for your Skin Tone:

Cheeks – MAC Optimistic Orange Creme Blend
Eyes – Inglot Eyeshadow in 51

DARK SKIN

For those with dark skin, burnt oranges are the best match, a sort of red-orange hybrid. The zingy tinge will make your complexion look ultra fresh. The colour can be sheer or highly pigmented, both look fresh and modern.

Best Products for your Skin Tone:

Hope this helps you take the steps to wearing this summer’s on trend colour.

For Pete’s Sake Fashion Show

For Petes Sake Logo

I was fortunate enough to be asked to be part of the ‘For Pete’s Sake’ mini fashion show last Thursday. The event was hosted by PIA Galway and was to raise funds for a trust that hopes to provide much needed cancer treatment for Pete, an Oranmore man, aged 40, husband and father of 3, who was suddenly struck with an aggressive cancer last year. Following months of extensive chemotherapy it is now apparent that the only option remaining, is to travel to New York for life saving treatment and medication that is not available here in Ireland.

Hosted by the lovely Denise Manning, the owner of PIA, and Sophie Small, the evening started off with complimentary wine and canapés provided by Delicious Catering and J&C KennyGuests got a chance to mingle, meet people and browse all the gorgeous clothes throughout the boutique before a short introduction from Claire Gannon from the trust and Denise and Sophie from PIA.

Following that, I got the chance to give my top 3 hints and tips before the fashion show, which featured past and present Miss Galway’s, got underway. We were lucky enough for Leah Tiernan (current Miss Galway), Laura Fox (2013 Miss Galway), Nicola Corcoran (the current Galway Rose), previous Miss Galway Sophie Small and a special guest appearance from Pete’s daughter Molly, to give up their time and model for the show.

Overall it was a lovely evening and I was delighted to be a part of it – I even managed to come away with one of the spot prizes!. I loved providing tips to all the guests on techniques and products for their skin types and how to apply different types of make up. I also got the chance to meet Sinead Caroll from ‘Yummy Mummy Fashion & Lifestyle Blog’ and talk about the blogging community here in the West of Ireland.

If you’re looking for a special outfit for a Communion, Christening, or the Galway Races, it’s definitely worth popping into see Denise as she will be only too happy to help you and choose outfits that will suit your body shape and style….she’s absolutely fab!

I hope that the evening managed to raise a good bit of money for the trust.

April Favourites

All the chocolate eggs have been eaten and another month has passed and that means another lot of products that I have discovered (or rediscovered in some cases), that I thought I’d tell you about. Here;’s what I have been loving throughout the month of April;

REN Serum

REN Serum

REN SKINCARE – ‘Keep Young and Beautiful Firming and Smoothing Serum’ – I figured it was time to grow up and stop relying on serum samples that I get everytime I order something online! So I did a bit of research and found Ren Skincare very helpful on Twitter and decided on this particular serum. It is a bit of a minefield choosing skincare products, so definitely worth looking into what’s right for your skin. So far, I’m really happy with this one. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and apply it both morning and evening time after I’ve toned my skin and before I apply my moisturiser. It’s not cheap at €54, but claims to keep your skin looking younger for longer by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which is always a winner in my eyes. I also think that it will last me a few months so it’s not too bad. There is one thing I really don’t like about this product and it’s the smell. When you really rub it into the skin it just doesn’t have a pleasant smell which really annoys me!! (silly I know). My skin definitely feels smoother and softer to touch so I’m going to keep with it and hopefully reap the benefits.
Available from http://www.cloud10beauty.com for €54

Tanya Burr - Champagne Toast Lip Gloss

Tanya Burr – Champagne Toast Lip Gloss

Tanya Burr – Champagne Toast – Whilst I do try to make an attempt to wear more colour on my lips, I just can’t help myself by going back to the neutrals and this lip gloss to me is just perfect. Worn on it’s own it’s a gorgeous glassy effect that is a sort of clear, golden colour. It’s also the perfect gloss to put over lipstick and I’ve been wearing it over my Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter and my Charlotte Tilbury ‘Penelope Pink’ lipstick. Every time I wear it, I always get compliments (which is always nice). Plus it smells divine!
Available from http://www.feelunique.com or http://www.cloud10beauty.com for €8.50

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream

Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream – This has to be my stand out product from all my PowderPocket boxes so far. I had previously been using the L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream if I didn’t want to go for a fuller coverage and was having a ‘less make up’ day. But I did find that it gives my skin a bit of an orangey colour and if I’m not tanned or just looking a bit pale, it’s really noticeable. The Ginvera BB Cream does everything you want from a BB Cream. The Ginvera Green Tea Skin Care range hails from Singapore and is much loved through out South-East Asia. It’s enriched with premium Green Tea, Ginseng, Chinese Angelica and Hyaluronic Acid. This BB cream provides the benefits of blemish free concealing, sun block effects (SPF 30), moisturising and reduction of lines, providing a long lasting smooth and ultra light feel to nourish and perfect your skin. It says it’s suitable for all skin tones, but I’m not sure how it would look on a really dark skin. I love how this goes on the skin and it really does give the skin a flawless look. If you had any really red blemishes then you probably would need to add some concealer. I’ve just repurchased this as I will be included in my hospital bag when I have the baby, as it’s the perfect skincare product to make me look more human. A total winner all round and it gets a big thumbs up from me!
Available from http://www.janiro.co.uk for £18 + P&P

Sleek Make Up Eyebrow Stylist

Sleek Make Up Eyebrow Stylist

Sleek Make Up EyeBrow Stylist – I purchased the medium in this and was intrigued to see if it would be a good alternative to the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift pencils, as I can only lust after these. I have been pleasantly surprised by the cheaper Sleek option. At first I wasn’t too taken with it, but after giving it another try, it’s now my everyday brow product. I find that the waxy pencil gives a really nice look to the brows that is quite natural which is due to the rich creamy formula which is matte and velvety. I also love the fact that at the other end of the pencil there is a brush to groom the brows into place. The tip is thicker than most normal eyebrow pencils which means that you can make both thin and thick strokes for outlining and filling.
Available on http://www.cloud10beauty.com or http://www.sleekmakeup.com for €7.49

Blank Canvas E10 Brush

Blank Canvas E10 Brush

Blank Canvas E10 (Small Socket Blending Brush) – This little beauty was a free gift with my last order from Blank Canvas and had been rather neglected until recently. It’s turned out to be an absolutely fantastic brush. As someone that doesn’t have huge space between my eyelids and my brow, some blending brushes can sometimes be a little too large and you don’t tend to get the exact look you are looking to achieve. Thanks to the fine bundle of fluffy bristles, it really just concentrates product into the crease whilst still blending it. It’s also great for getting a really defined shade into the crease if that’s the look you’re going for. I will definitely be purchasing another one for my kit.
Available from http://www.blankcanvascoosmetics.com for €6.99

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation – I had forgotten that I had this foundation tucked away in my make up collection as hadn’t used it for a couple of months and had therefore forgotten how good it is. Nars Sheer Glow will always be my outright favourite foundation, but this comes very close to it. It is essentially almost a perfect match for it. The coverage is medium, but can be built to a fuller coverage when buffed into the skin. The finish leaves a slight illuminating, fresh glow, without being too much, which is exactly like the Nars one. It claims it lasts all day, but I’m not sure it would on combination skins. If you have a normal or slightly dry skin type then I’d say you’d have no bother with this. Overall a fantastic dupe for the Sheer Glow given it is a third of the price.
Available from Boots and pharmacies nationwide for €9.95

So that’s what I’ve been loving for the month of April. What’s you’re stand out products of April been?

Thanks for reading.

Bridal Month – Look 4 – Vintage Make Up

Vintage Wedding imageWhen I meet with brides for their trial and discuss the look they want to achieve for their wedding day, they generally respond with one of two answers; ‘Natural Look’ or a ‘Vintage Look’. For the ‘Vintage Look’ it’s generally because the theme of the day is centred around this, so they will have their make up all tied in with the dress and the hair. I tend to find that this look is popular with brides that are used to wearing a strong lip on an every day basis and like quite a strong make up look. It’s certainly not something that I would recommend a bride try for the first time on her wedding day. Least of all the groom might be a bit surprised when he turns to watch you walking down the aisle. As with all these looks that I have posted this month, there are lots that you can change. I’ve gone for a strong eye and strong lip, but you can always tone either one of them down to what you are comfortable with. With the lip this can be changed to a tone of red lipstick that suits your skin tone or a completely different shade, such as a plum, or burgundy colour if that’s what you feel more comfortable with. However, if you are going for a strong colour on your lips, do be prepared that this takes a little more up keep than if you were simply wearing a gloss.

Products used for this look

Products used for this look

Below is a product list that I used to achieve this look and a little information on how it was applied:

FACE
Primer – Laura Mercier Primer – applied mainly to the T Zone of the face
BUFF Sheer Glow in Moviestar – this gives a really nice glow to the skin. A small amount applied all over the face with a foundation brush. As you can see from all the previous looks, I always use this on my brides
Foundation – MAC Full Coverage Foundation – This is another popular foundation with brides that like a fuller coverage from their foundations. It’s an emolient-based formular that provides opaque coverage. As it’s water-resistant and long-wearing it’s perfect for a wedding. It also doesn’t contain an SPF, so there is no risk of flashback in the photos. I used a Real Techniques Stippling Brush to apply this
Concealer – MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – simply the best concealer on the market. It doesn’t crease, has great coverage and lasts all day. This was applied under the eyes, down the centre of the nose, through the brow bones, on the cupid’s bow and in the centre of the chin
Contour – NARS Laguna Bronzer – used to contour the hollows of the cheek, along the temples and under the jaw line
Blush – MAC Melba – applied to the apples of the cheeks with a MAC 168 brush and then blended up
Highlighter – MAC Soft &  Gentle – a very small amount applied to the top of the cheek bones and through the brow bone, as this look isn’t really about the highlighting. It’s more of a matte look
Powder – Rimmel Stay Matt Powder – my good old faithful translucent powder, applied to most of the face to create a matte finish

EYES
Brows
– Anastasia Brow Whizz in Ash Blonde Eye
Primer
– MAC Painterly – all over the lids

Eye Shadow – MAC Brule all over the lid, MAC Cork and Kid through the crease and a little bit of Espresso to give some more depth
Eyeliner – MaybellineEyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black
Mascara – YSL Babydoll
Lashes – KISS Natural

LIPS
Pencil
– MAC Brick pencil to line the lips and fill them in – this will ensure that the lipstick lasts longer

Lipstick – M.A.C Red – apply, then blot with a tissue and re-apply. This will ensure that the lipstick lasts longer.

Bridal Month – Look 3 – Natural Look with a bright lip

For the 3rd look of this month’s bridal looks, I have used a different model, to give an idea of how colours work on different skin tones and eye colours. As you can see from the pictures, Ruth is blonde with a fairer skin tone and blue eyes compared to Tory, the model for the previous two looks, who has a much darker skin tone and darker features. For that reason, I have gone for a very natural golden colour on the eyes and let Ruth’s gorgeous features do the talking. Just to brighten it up, I have gone for quite a bright pink lip, but you could just as easily tone it down with a nude pink lip colour such as MAC Hue, which is a very popular colour for brides.

Below is a product list that I used to achieve this look and a little information on how it was applied:

FACE
Primer – Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – I would always recommend using a primer for bridal make up as it will help the make up last all day (and night)
Buff Make Up Sheer Glow – in Movie Star – this gives a really nice glow to the skin. A small amount applied all over the face with a foundation brush. As you can see from this and the previous two looks, I always use this on my brides
Foundation – BUFF HD Foundation – really well buffed into the skin using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to give a medium to full coverage. This foundation is suitable for all skin types and will leave the skin with a satin finish. Ruth has some pigmentation on her forehead and on the tops of her cheek bones and this covers it really well. It’s also great for bridal or editorial work as it doesn’t have an SPF in it.
Concealer – MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – under the eyes, down the centre of the nose, through the brow bone, on the cupid’s bow and in the centre of the chin
Contour – Nars Laguna Bronzer – to softly contour the cheek bones. This look isn’t about contouring, so that is why it’s just done very softly. This bronzer is a great product for fairer skins.
Blush – NYX Rose Garden – this is a really fresh pink colour, with a small amount of golden shimmer through it. It has just been applied to the apples of the cheeks and blended upwards towards the ears
Face Powder – MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation – I used this to get slightly more coverage on certain parts of the face, namely over the areas of pigmentation, but kept the cheeks and nose dewy.
Highlighter – MAC Soft and Gentle – applied to the top of the cheek bones, through the brow bone, down the centre of the nose and on the cupid’s bow

EYES
Base/Primer – MAC Painterly applied all over the lid and up to the brow to give a really even base to work on. This provides a base for the eye shadow to stick to and helps the eye shadow last longer
Eye Shadows – MAC Kid was blended through the crease using a MAC 224 brush to give a little extra definition to the eyes and then applied all over the lid just up to the crease and blended in slightly. MAC Woodwinked was then applied onto the lid and blended through the crease as well. You don’t need very much of this product as it can look too cakey if you have too much on your brush
Eyeliner – MAC eyeshadow in Carbon was applied along the top lashline, as closely to the lashes as possible using a MAC 266 brush. A very small feline flick was then applied to the outer corner of the eye. I then went over this with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black using a Louise Young LY24A brush. With whatever product I still had on the 266 brush, this was applied to the very outer edge of the lower lash line
Highlighter – MAC Soft & Gentle through the brow bone
Brows – Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde and MAC Omega eyeshadow
Mascara – Maybelline The Flashies in Black on top and bottom lashes
Lashes – Amazing Shine lashes in no 507

LIPS
Lip Liner – MAC Subculture liner
Lipstick – MAC Speed Dial

Gloss – MACPro Longwear Lipglass
in Infinitely Likeable

Purple Bridal Look

The second of this month’s bridal looks is using purples which would be ideal for a winter wedding to give that slightly darker look. Whilst a lot of brides tend to go for neutral colours such as browns and golds, its always nice to have other options for brides that want something slightly different. Purple is always a winner for those that have brown, hazel or green eyes, it really makes them pop and you only need to use a hint of colour to transform a look.

Highlighter – Sleek Face Contour Kit – applied to the top of the cheek bones, through the brow bone, down the centre of the nose and on the cupid’s bow

EYES

This provides a base for the eye shadow to stick to and helps the eye shadow last longer Eye Shadows – MAC Yoghurt was applied all over the lid where the Painterly had been applied and blended in. Through the crease MAC Blackberry was then applied using a MAC 217 brush and blended. Using the 239 brush, MAC Blackberry was applied under the lower lashline to give some definition to the eyes.
Eyeliner – Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black – along the top lash line following the natural shape of the eye and winging it up to create a feline flick.. To make the eyes open up a little I used MAC Naked Liner pencil on the inside of the lower lash line.
Highlighter – MAC Vanilla through the brow bone and on the inside tear duct
Brows – Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
Mascara – Maybelline The Flashies in Black on top and bottom lashes
Lashes – Amazing Shine lashes in no 747-S

March Favourites

Daffs

I love Daffodils around the house at this time of year

The daffodils are out, the sun has been making a slightly more regular and welcomed appearance and there’s definitely a spring in everyone’s step, which can only be a good thing. All of a sudden Easter is around the corner and I found myself yet again at the end of another month and late getting my favourites post up, so apologies! Here’s a few things that I have been loving in March:

March Favourites

March Favourites

Nars Duo in Sin & Casino

Nars Duo in Sin & Casino

NARS Blushers in Sin – This was one of my products from my “Lust List – Autumn/Winter” post back in November last year and I decided to order it when I needed a couple of NARS foundations for my kit. It’s actually part of a Duo Blusher set which comes with a bronzer in Casino, which is a very similar shade to Laguna. This was ideal for me as I wanted both products and was cheaper than buying both separately. Sin is a really pretty berry/purple colour with a slight golden shimmer through it and it’s a really nice alternative to all my normal pink or peach blushes. Casino is a nice dark brown, again with a slight golden shimmer through it.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in 'Picnic in the Park'

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in ‘Picnic in the Park’

'Picnic in the Park' swatch

‘Picnic in the Park’ swatch

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in ‘Picnic in the Park’ – In March, I treated myself to an online spree and top of my list were some of the items from the Tanya Burr range of lip glosses and nail polishes. I was tempted to purchase the whole lot, but managed to hold myself back and bought First Date, Afternoon Tea, Just Peachy, Champagne Toast and Picnic in the Park. The latter I thought would be my least favourite out of all of them, simply because it’s quite a bright pink colour which doesn’t normally suit me. But I absolutely love it. These lip glosses are super pigmented and are almost a lip stick and gloss in one. You certainly wouldn’t need a lipstick underneath them. When they are first put on, I find them a bit too much, but it’s as if they then calm down a little and settle into the skin. The applicator makes it super easy to apply and the lasting power is amazing. Compared to my MAC glosses they definitely last longer.

Bright and Early1

Tanya Burr Nail Polish in ‘Bright & Early’

Tanya Burr Nail Polish in ‘Bright & Early’ – As part of the spree I did online I bought four nail polishes from the Tanya Burr range; Bright & Early, Peaches & Cream, Little Duck and Mini Marshmallows. I have been looking for a spring coral colour for a while and ‘Bright & Early’ is the perfect one. As the name suggests, it is quite bright and perfect for Spring/Summer as we all know by now, corals and oranges are always on trend for this time of year. The quality of these products, as with the lip glosses is very good. The brush does carry a lot of product and I don’t think it’s as good as the brushes that you get with the Rimmel nail polishes, but that aside they are lovely polishes. The range of colours is excellent, with 10 different shades there is definitely a polish for every mood.

MAC Blush in Harmony

MAC Blush in Harmony

MAC Harmony Blush – I have fallen back in love with this product. Having started using so many other products for contouring such as NARS Laguna, Sleek Contouring Face Kit and Soleil Tan de Chanel, this has been slightly neglected in my kit and I’d forgotten how good it is. But it has now become a regular product and I quite often like to layer it on top of the Soleil Tan de Chanel for a lasting effect for bridal work.

HD Brows at Chez Elaine

HD Brows at Chez Elaine

HD Brows – Chez Elaine (www.chezelaine.com) – We all know that brows are still a big thing, and it looks like that’s not going to change anytime soon. I’ve been going to Chez Elaine in Galway for the last 12 months to grow and re-shape mine and am really happy with them. Elaine Barrett is an absolute expert in HD Brows and even has a whole room dedicated to it in her new gorgeous salon in Galway. She has also been featured on TV3’s Exposé talking about HD Brows. Elaine knows exactly what suits each face shape and how to create the perfect brow. Initially she advised me to use a serum to grow mine, before starting the HD treatment and I’m delighted with the results so far….they are not quite 100% perfect yet, as I still need to grow them a little more in places, but they are still well on their way to being fab.

Blank Canvas F20 Brush

Blank Canvas F20 Brush

Blank Canvas Cosmetics F20 Flat Buffer Brush – I recently bought a few brushes from Blank Canvas as was keen to try them out as they have been getting rave reviews in the blogging sphere. And the positive reviews are totally deserved! They are fantastic brushes at very reasonable prices. So far, out of the 5 that I bought, I haven’t had any problems with them shedding or leaving hairs on the face etc. I use the F20 brush for applying my liquid foundation which has short, dense synthetic fibres that are really soft on the face and it really does leave a flawless finish to the face. I find that I don’t need as much foundation as with other brushes, which is always a bonus. Foundation is probably the thing I spend the most time on, to really buff it into the skin, and I find that this brush is excellent. I will definitely be buying a couple of these for my kit.

Babyliss Boutique Waves

Babyliss Boutique Waves

Babyliss Boutique Soft Waves – As someone that cannot do anything with her hair, this product has been a revolution for me! If you just want a really easy and fairly quick jazz up of the hair, then this is the product. The barrel is quite thick and so it’s great for any of you gals that are blessed with thick, long hair. There are various different heat settings and it even comes with a glove you can wear so as not to burn yourself. As the name suggests, it gives a soft loose wave and with a simple run of the fingers through your hair, you’re done.

So have you been loving any particular products this month? If so, what?

Thanks for reading and have a nice weekend.

Soft Brown Bridal Make Up Look

Bridal Month Notice3

Given that wedding season is well under way, I thought it only apt to make April ‘Bridal Month’, so all the looks posted throughout the month will be wedding and bridal related. By no means are these only looks for weddings, but hopefully they will give brides-to-be some inspiration if they are thinking about what they’d like for their big day.

To get the series started, I’ll be kicking off with this week’s post which is a simple look using mostly browns which are very popular for brides given that they suit most eye colours. Whilst it is a fairly simple look, there are quite a few products as I like to layer products enabling them to last longer, which is essential on your wedding day. By all means substitute certain products with more affordable products or feel free to mix up the look by using different colours. There are no rules in make up, just whatever you’re happy with and you feel suits you best.

Below is a product list that I used for this look to achieve this look and a little information on how it was applied:

FACE
Primer – Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – I would always recommend using a primer for bridal make up as it will help the make up last all day (and night)
Buff Make Up Sheer Glow –
in Movie Star – this gives a really nice glow to the skin. A small amount applied all over the face with a foundation brush
Foundation – MAC Face and Body – really well buffed into the skin to give a medium coverage. I have used a medium coverage for this look as I still want it to look natural but with a slightly dewy finish to the skin
Concealer – MAC Pro Longwear Concealer – under the eyes, down the centre of the nose, through the brow bone, on the cupid’s bow and in the centre of the chin
Contour – Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel to contour and bronze the cheeks and then a little MAC Harmony just to go over it in the hollows of the cheeks (again layering is key)
Blush – MAC Peaches – this is a really nice matt warm peach colour, applied to the apples of the cheeks and blended upwards towards the ears
Face Powder – MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation – I used this to get slightly more coverage on certain parts of the face, but kept the cheeks and nose dewy.
Highlighter – MAC Soft and Gentle – applied to the top of the cheek bones, through the brow bone, down the centre of the nose and on the cupid’s bow

EYES
Base/PrimerMAC Painterly applied all over the lid and up to the brow to give a really even base to work on. This provides a base for the eye shadow to stick to
Eye ShadowsMAC Brule was applied all over the lid where the Painterly had been applied and blended in. On top of this MAC Pattina was applied right the way over the eye and up through the socket with a MAC 217 brush. Then using a MAC 239 flat brush I applied MAC Mulch from the top lash line and pulled upwards and slightly out to create a bit of a winged out effect. This was blended using the 217 brush and applied again for a more intense look. Then taking an angled brush and MAC Carbon eye shadow, I ran this straight across the lash line, pulling it up very slightly to create a softer line. Using the 239 brush again just to soften it a little. A little of what was left on the brush was then used on the outside of the lower lash line
Eyeliner – Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black – along the top lash line following the Carbon liner. To make the eyes open up a little I used MAC Naked Liner pencil on the inside of the lower lash line.
Highlighter – MAC Vanilla through the brow bone and on the inside tear duct
Brows – a mixture of MAC Espresso and MAC Omega with an angled brush
Mascara – Maybelline The Flashies in Black on top and bottom lashes
Lashes – Individual lashes – this enhances and opens up the eyes whilst still looking natural

LIPS
Lip Liner – MAC Sublime Culture
Lipstick – MAC Hue
Lip Gloss – Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie in Rebel

Naked 3 Palette Look

It’s started off being a pretty miserable day here in Galway, so I thought what better way to cheer myself up than to do a look using my ‘go to eye shadow palette of the moment’…..the Naked 3 Palette. I got this for Christmas and having never purchased any of it’s predecessors, I’m delighted with this one. Full of rosey gold hues, it wouldn’t be by normal everyday options, but it’s pushed me slightly out of my comfort zone in terms of colour, and I’m liking it!!!

Before you look at any of the images, I must apologise for the quality of the photos, my lighting is not the best. Plus, and it’s a BIG PLUS…..my ‘no make up face’ picture is pretty bad…..I can only apologise. It’s a severe case of pregnancy insomnia for the last 6 months that I think has aged me about 40 years!!!!

So, onto the look and the pictures and products;

FACE
Foundation – Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab
Concealer – MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20
Contour – MAC Blush in Harmony
Highlighter –
Sleek Face Contour Kit Highlighter in Medium
Blush –
MAC Blush in Dame
Powder –

EYES
Eye Shadow Base –
MAC Paintpot in Painterly
Eye Shadows – Strange, Dust, Buzz, Nooner, Mugshot and Blackheart – Strange was used on the inner part of the eye, Dust over the middle and outer half and then Buzz was used through the crease. I also used Nooner through the crease to add some extra definition as Buzz is a shimmer shade and so needed some extra depth to it. Mugshot and Blackheart were then used on the lower lashline.
Eyeliner –
Lancôme Artliner on the top lashline and MAC Coffee pencil on the lower waterline.
Eyebrows – MAC Eyeshadow in Espresso
Mascara – YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Baby Doll

LIPS
Lipgloss – Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Picnic in the Park – this is fast becoming my favourite lipgloss of the moment.

Do you have this palette? If so, what do you think of it?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and thanks for reading.
